Story Doctor Eva Rojas (Cruz) is investigating a string on outbreak illness along the Niger River, the more she investigates the more danger she finds herself in and get attacked by three men. Luckily for her treasure hunter Dirk Pitt (McConaughey) is around to save her and takes her aboard the ship his works on. The ship is run by Admiral Jim Sandecker (Macy) and has his trusted computer whizz Rudi (Rainn Wilson) and Dirk life long best friend Al Giordino (Zahn).

After taking Eva to Mali where she believes the first outbreak begin they part ways, Eva investigates more on the sickness while Dirk, Al and Rudi go in search of a legendary ironclad ship from the mid 1800s meant to be full of gold and has been lost all this time. Little do they know they are both on the same path on uncovering a bigger conspiracy involving General Zaleb Kazim (James) the leader of Mali and Yves Massarde (Lambert James). How big is the conspiracy and how far will these heroes go to uncover it?

Verdict This is a good action adventure which gives a little of everything a mix of a modern day Indian Jones and Uncharted but not to their high standards. The heroes are the normal old Army guys who just seek adventure. This is well worth a watch if you like a simple action adventure to follow
Story Mark 8/10 Good story but in a relaxed movie it has some more serious themes with illness going through African with very few people willing to help
Action Mark 9/10 The action scenes are very good be it fight scenes or chase or explosions
Chemistry Mark 9/10 Dirk and Al have great friendship chemistry and Eva and Dirk have nice flirt chemistry through out

Star Performances Steve Zahn he shines as the sidekick and steals most of the scenes

Favourite Character Al Funny serious all round character that most people will enjoy and want to see what he does next

Least Favourite Character Yves Massarde an idealist who is too arrogant to see his mistakes

Best Part The Panama

Best Quote Rudi 'Admiral, I have news about your boat. Boom'
