Film Focus - V/H/S (2012)

There is a lot of hype for this horror film it is going to be one of the headline films for Frightfest, lets see if it lives up to the hype.

The story follows a group a thieves and general trouble makers getting a job to steal a video tape from a house. What they find in the house is a large selection of videos each containing horrific stories in a found footage selection.

Newguy87's Verdict

The found footage genre is starting to get out of hand as we all know how most of them go, about an hour of maybe thing happening before a quick 15 minute blitz that usually kills everyone. This takes all the build up of these found footage and throws us right into the action it may leave a few questions about certain parts but I think this adds something leaving you thinking about what happened.

Each story has a twist coming some are clear while others are actually quite surprising,  All the stories have a different type of horror in as well, from creature, serial killer, paranormal so if you are not a fan of one type you can always stick it out for one type you would enjoy. The thieves are completely unlikeable which the fans who judge people quick may switch off but i advice them to wait you will be rewarded once the stories gets going.

Best Part: I would say the 4th story on Skype type conversation between two friends.

My Rating 90%
