The winner of the 2014 SofaWatch Movie Awards Director went to the outstanding Angelina Jolie for her direction of Unbroken.
Unbroken follows the story of an Olympian who is nearly killed during a World War 2 plain crash and survives 47 days on a raft before being caught by the Japanese Navy and sent to a prisoner of war camp.
As you will know Angelina is a very talented and sought after actress who can undoubtedly direct as well. Her leadership through the filming, editing and production of the film Unbroken was brilliant, even though this is only her third outing as a director having previously directed on In The Land of Blood and Honey and also on the documentary A Place in Time. At current her latest film under her direction is By the Sea which is currently in its post production stage and is due to be released this year, she will also be directing Africa at a later date.
I hope to see many more films being directed by Angelina in the future.
