What's it about? - Following the legendary and eccentric artist of the 18th and 19th centuries JMW Turner through his last quarter century. Sadly his father has passed away and Turner becomes deeply affected by this tragedy. We follow the stories of the housekeeper with whom he has many benefits with but fails to notice her love for him and also the landlady from a seaside town with whom in his last days he lives with back in London incognito. During his time, Turner spent many days traveling and painting, whilst also indulging in some extra curricular activities as well as staying with the well to do from the country. Some of his painting methods were a bit peculiar as is shown by him being strapped to a ships mast so he can carry on painting during a snow storm.
Is it any good? - This is a very good film with some very enjoyable tales, a few laughs and some sad times.
Why should I watch it? - This film comes close to the stories known of JMW turner and you would be silly not to watch this film to gain an insight into his life and also into his paintings.
How do you rate it overall? - 9/10
